Syria's bloodiest day: Hundreds of men, women and children massacred by Assad's army

SYRIAN troops murdered 320 people including women and children in the civil war’s bloodiest massacre, rebels claimed yesterday.
Most were executed with shots to the head or chest in house-to-house raids by soldiers on the rampage, according to opposition activists.
Clips posted on the internet showed the bodies of several children wrapped in sheets and one toddler soaked in blood.
Syrian officials said troops had “cleansed” the area of terrorists after three days of heavy bombardment by tanks.
The dead were found in homes and basement shelters in the working class Sunni town of Darayya, near Damascus.
If confirmed, the death toll dwarfs massacres such as those in Homs, where 300 were killed, and Houla, where 108 died.
President Assad’s troops were accused of killing 440 people in total over the weekend.
One rebel said: “It appears two dozen died from sniper fire and the rest were executed by gunshots from close range.”
The activist said he saw an eight-year-old shot by snipers while she was leaving the carnage with her parents in their car.
He added: “They were trying to flee the army raids. Three bullets hit her in the back and her parents brought her to a makeshift hospital. Nothing could be done for her.”
A voice of the person filming the dead in a mosque in Darayya said: “You are seeing the revenge of Assad’s forces. More than 150 bodies on the floor.
